I am so over the moon tonight, not even finding out my greatest competitor on the Biggest Loser is using the “Get Fit” program could damper my spirits.
In 2001 I was told by my GP (Doctor) that I was a walking dead man, he scared the hell out of me with that statement. What must I do was my question and he simply answered lose weight by eating healthy and go run.
I did just that but the eating part didn’t go at all right, I made mistakes along the way, same with running, it was bloody difficult at 200 kgs. (440 lbs or 31st 6.9lb) I tore muscles and ended up a walker for a while…that while became a few years till I had lost quite a bit of weight.

One day I ran, similar to Forest Gump, for no particular reason I ran and I ran well 6 minutes 20 seconds a kilometre, holly hell that was fast. A dream was born run Two Oceans hell man run Comrades.

So my running training started and got lost again especially the eating part, I did do four Two oceans Half Marathons in the mean time, two of those I pacesetted the cut off bus.
I dreamt of a day when I could look in a mirror and feel good about myself, I tried several coaches and personal trainers to give me that edge and none worked until along came the one the only Jillian Michaels.
Not only an inspiration but a tough trainer who takes no nonsense from no one. I had my work cut out for me, I got onto a very good eating plan, revisited my running goals, entered Comrades 2010 and the George Archer 201km run.

So why the joy well weighing in tonight I reached a milestone, I have for months wished I could get past that bloody 120 kg mark. It seemed like it would never happen, I weighed in today and let out a scream like a giddy school girl, 119 kg (261.8 lbs or 18st 10.4lb)
I can’t wait for the next mile stone 100 kg, last time I was 100 kg I was 21 years old could it be possible lets see.
Awesome Dave, well done and keep it up.
