JILLIAN MICHAELS




“The Biggest Loser,” Jillian Michaels has combined her 17 years of martial arts experience and 13 years of personal training in a Weight Loss Plan based on three important factors: self, science, and sweat. She, like many of us, has fought the excess weight battle in the past. I believe, as she does, that most people can reach their weight loss goals through a positive attitude, a real understanding and knowledge of their personal metabolic rate, and dedication to a regular exercise schedule. Jillian Michaels’ latest book, “Making The Cut,” is a 30-day Weight Loss Plan based on whether you are a slow, fast, or balanced oxidizer. This simply means that people who oxidize or digest food slowly require more carbohydrates and fast oxidizers need more protein.

Training
Jillian has considerable experience in kickboxing, Pilates, yoga, and weight training; however, this is definitely not a prerequisite to enrolling in her Weight Loss Plan. You should be prepared to put in considerable effort and be able to accept the sometimes tough advice that Jillian Michaels has to offer. People are encouraged to not only lose weight, but to enjoy and have fun with the exercises and training that go along with this Weight Loss Plan.

The Jillian Michaels Weight Loss Plan is an online, interactive weight loss program that is “real weight loss for real people.” She combines her years of fitness training and personal weight loss to provide members with a customized program that really works. One feature we’d like to emphasize in our Jillian Michaels Review is the personalization each member receives in the Weight Loss Plan. As a member, you get a customized nutrition plan, printable exercises that you can easily do at home, meal plans (recipes and menus), a fitness diary, and a calorie calculator.

There’s lots of support and inspiration, as well, with an “Ask Jillian” section on the site and interaction between members through message boards and buddies. There was no doubt in my mind that when I started with Jillian's training it would be tough. Jillian sent me her workouts via email, I printed them out, laminated them and started working out. Now watching Jillian on Biggest Loser, she had this intensity about her which of course earns her the title of toughest trainer.

The workouts, although tough, were lacking something and that was the fire that Jillian brings to a workout so I purchased a DVD jillian had made, I started off with this DVD and the first thing I noticed was that I had been working out too slowly, Jillian is bang bang bang, one exercise to another without a break. My choice of DVD seems to be good and a week into it I hurt my calf muscle so I stopped for a while. During that period I bought another DVD and it waited in the wings until I had healed.

The new DVD was great, I suffered for the first few times but it was a excellent workout, this was followed by one of the Biggest Loser series which has become my favorite. Very tough but I seem to excel at these workouts.

Last DVD to come to the collection blew my mind, I have been working out with Jillian for about seven months but this latest one had me actually stopping for a few seconds to breath or just to rest. It is insane, although I have lost big since being with Jillian I still battled on this last DVD.

So I will go through them as I bought them

First to arrive was Jillian Michaels - 30 Day Shred



Jillian Michaels winning trainer on NBC's "The Biggest Loser" helps you lose big--up to 20 pounds in 30 days! Her 30-Day Shred DVD includes three 20-minute circuit-training workouts that burn mega calories and build strong lean muscle. Each workout is progressively harder so start with the Level 1 and when you are ready progress to Level 2 and then Level 3. Each level contains a 20-minute workout based on Jillian's exclusive 3-2-1 Strength/Cardio/Ab training circuit: 3 minutes of strength 2 minutes of cardio and 1minute of ab work. There's also a brief warm-up session and a cool-down stretch. Follow Jillian's program for 30 days and you will see amazing results

Next came Biggest Loser: The Workout - Power Sculpt



This DVD includes a power-packed workout inspired by the hit TV series. Included is a 6 week program for maximum weight loss, with Level 1, 2, & 3 workouts. Television's most popular trainers prove viewers can achieve the same results as THE BIGGEST LOSER contestants by doing these three different cardio workouts plus warm up and cool down segments. Viewers will get a well-rounded workout consisting of a 10-minute boot camp with Bob, a 20-minute basic training led by Jillian, and a 10-minute routine with Kim.

Now I am not a fan of Bob Harper, his workouts routine is good but I naturally just don't want to workout with him. As for Kim, her little screechy voice does not do it for me, I just cannot do her workout., so on this DVD it is the warm up, Jillian 20 min and cool down.

Next came Jillian Michaels: No More Trouble Zones

This one is less jumping around and more floor work with abs, it is a great one that had me gasping for air when I did it for the first few times.

The came my favorite The Biggest Loser: The Workout - Last Chance Workout

This is intense, I love it, I am not a sweater, I can run a half marathon with hardly a sweat but this DVD I am dripping with sweat right down to my socks. I really love this workout which does upper and lower body then a last chance workout, I have lost 1.5 kg each time just doing this workout, most of it is water loss but still it is the best workout yet.

Then came this one Jillian Michaels: Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism




It is an hour workout with a phenomenal warm up and cool down. She does about 6-7 circuits of cardio intense exercises (that can be modified) and you repeat the exercises twice in each circuit. I felt challenged and really good after I got done with it. When I first started I said, “I’m in over my head”, but soon discovered she gives you a small rest between the sets by alternating a really tough set with a more moderate set to get a little bit of recovery. This one had me stopping every now and then to catch my breath or to rest my aching muscles. No equipment is used in this one it is solely your own body resistance providing the workout. Jillian Michaels is at the top of her game and hopefully gives you the results you want to see.

    I see on Internet they banned iPods in the US in November 2007. They haven't enforced the rule though.
