FOOD AND MORE FOOD

I went to a wedding this weekend, it was in the Natal midlands so it was a case of staying over at the venue. Now for the last eight months I have been on a very strict eating plan and some serious physical training.

Now I get to this wedding and the first thing that presents itself to me is cold meat and rolls, anyone who knows me knows I have a problem with soft fluffy rolls especially when there is cold meats involved and not just any cold meats, my sister in laws cold meats.

So while the family dug in I made my way to my room and had my Saturday lunch, 1 x yogurt. On my arrival back at the “lunch” there is still food sitting on the table so I had a bit of the meat after all it is protein.

15h30 is the wedding and all goes well then we come out the church and we are confronted with the normal snacks most some type of Indian style cooking, of course all fried in oil. There was some crumbed fish which seemed the least dangerous and I had a few of those.

Now I stand there looking around and people are eating and eating, the waiters can’t keep up with the demand, The cake cutting arrives and a novel idea by the bride, cupcakes for the guests, I thought well if Adro could eat a cupcake and win biggest loser Australia then surely I could have one, it turned out to be carrot cake the worst type of cupcake but damn nice. So here we see the masses devouring the cupcakes.

Man people sure as hell eat a lot, no wonder we have so much obesity in this country. We finally go through to the hall for the reception, and first to arrive is fresh bread on the table…success ignored by myself. Next is starters, no I don’t need starters, next is the main course, I took some veg and two pieces of meat. A glance around and everyone has overloaded plates, good God don’t these people realize what they are doing to themselves.

Coming back from the bar and there is a table with some type of chocolate truffles and of course normal and chocolate fudge…..by pass successfully.

PUDDING…what the hell, these people have been eating for the last like three hours not they are having chocolate and ice cream etc. BYPASS thank you.

I guess I can safely attend functions but I am really amazed at how people stuff it in their mouths and then still wonder why they are getting fat…HELLO.

  1. Well done for bypassing all the temptations.

At work I always smile when I see the fat people going to the vending machine every day. The "not-fat" people just don't do that.
