IT'S BEEN A WHILE

It has been a while since I posted and not any good reason for it apart from just not getting around to it.

I received this in the post a few days ago which made the whole scenario way too real.

It seems I am running this race, how do I feel ? Well numb actually, I don’t know what to expect, I don’t know if I will make the require cut offs at the five stations along the road in time let alone the final cut off.

Look I would love to make it and get the smallest medal in South Africa, if I do I can put this to bed and concentrate on my next challenge. If I don’t make it, hmmmm I don’t know, would I run it the next year ? NO I already have a challenge lined up for 2011 and 2012 and 2013. As it is 2014 is open…lol.

I received the pace chart of the famous bus driver Vlam Pieterse and that in its self was a set back. See I had visions of using Vlam to make it through this race but alas his pace chart and mine do not correspond which means Dave is on his own.

Yes I am an accomplished pacesetter but I have never done it over such a long distance.

Oh yes by the way look at the back of my running vest....

Well we can only see what the day will hold for me.

The other challenges…..you want know ???

2011 – George Archer 403 km 6 day event

2012 – Two Oceans 56 km

2013 – Rhodes Ultra Trail run

  1. Maybe planning and doing your own thing is the best in the end. All the best Dave!

I'm on the Rhodes waiting list but this is a difficult one to get in. I hope to get into MAS this year.
